Seems the KS items for the steam version are also not working. Though Larian keeps pushing updates, so maybe they work already?
Even so, shit happens and it's not really fair to Larian blaming them for everything. They've done everything they could to make this launch successful - because they know how important a good reputation is. The real measure is not what doesn't work, but how quickly they fix it
