They most certainly are
I always have had a apreference for fighter type characters and this worried me seeing u dont have a team like in BG2 or an offsider like in NVN but you can easily multiskill your character to be able to do the additional quests that otherwise may have elluded you. My fighter is level 32 now and i have only failed a coule of minor quests due to not being a high enough level in certain areas which are specific to certain character types like thiefs etc
I do have a minor spoiler for you..(skills needed spoiler)...its not really a spoiler but it will be an aid to completing some quests.....if you want to know look down...i dont feel this will ruin the game for you and you can leave these for a little while anyway

get level 2 Telekinesis and level one pick pocket regardless of the character type you have
