RTM. Perhaps it's just the question you ask and your first sentence in the first post. Maybe that is why they think what they do.
So it sounds like the optimizations they done really helped you, great. A good number of us weren't seeing that. So it's all about perspective and there are some different one's out there based on what we get on our screens.
