Hey all. Really enjoying D:OS so far, not very far in as I have hit a wall and can't seem to get past it no matter what I try ( refusing to give up and drop it from normal difficulty haha.)

So my problem is the fight with all the cultists in Evelyns hideout. I can't seem to get past 3 or so dead before my entire party is wiped out. My party consists of (all lvl 5) a rogue and a fire mage, with the 2 NPCs in their base specs (Madora being my iniation mainly, and Jahan being a kind of support caster with his heals/teleports/etc.) I have a feeling this fight could potentially be realllly simple, but I just cant figure it out. I tried about 20 or so times before I cracked it and gave up for now. Any tips/help would be appreciated! Thanks smile

How can you have problems fighting the cultists inside her hideout if you havent even reached the hideout yet?

Firstly, to get to Evelyn you go through the Robots cave and out the other side.

I assume you mean the room directly before Evelyn with lots of spaced out casters and such, I'd recommend you hightail your party into the room and then go around the corner giving some line of sight defense and such - the cultists are not especially tough depending on what level you fight there, as level 5 you could probably be level 6 before that if you completed enough side quests of appropriate level, such as Black Cove or Pet Pal activated ones.

Control is the key here - Jahan has freezing spells (if it's raining, his 3 point chill will freeze them), your fire mage can hopefully teleport a mob where needed if they get too close/teleport into madora's swing. Your rogue should pull out a bow and focus on sniping things so you're not so exposed to everything in the room - also feel free to use the level 4 charm to help turn the tide.

It's quite a tough fight if you do it in the open, but if you focus on controlling the board it's much easier.

4Verse, the same tunnel that has the Sparkmaster 5000 robot will let you reach the northern beach; you take a left there, and there's a second exit. This really confused me at first, too.

As far as the OP goes, you may wanna take some time and evaluate what's doing you so much harm. Try using heal spells on the undead via Jahan, as well as blasting them with fire magic (this ignites toxic clouds). Using rain to alleviate a burn status helps, too, because you already know they'll do that. Target wizards first. I was playing a ranger, and backed him out into the hell, then the Cyclops Wizard followed me, isolating him.

Ishamael, you do not have to fight all of them at once. Position your party out in the room prior to cultists (the one with the orcs) and keep them out of sight of the door. Then advance a caster/archer into the room and do a snipe of the nearest cultist (the one in the middle left). This will pull them to you one at a time and through the bottleneck of the door. It takes time for them to advance & you can build a pool of AP first.

This did the trick! Thankyou very much smile I guess I was too focused on having my rogue dish all the damage with madora soaking it - which lead to madora being smashed to bits and then my rogue haha. Positioning was definitely the key problem here ( Seems to be an issue I have in a few games lol.)

On a sidenote that is offtopic but I feel I shouldn't open up a new thread and start a war as its really just a yes/no I am after and nothing more, are rogues viable damage dealers for the rest of the game?

p.s 4verse have you figured out how to get there? If not leave a reply smile I have had a few friends get stuck finding this as well!

Again, thanks for all the fast replies smile
