When i got the inventory open, and i click the avatar of another character in my party, i expect the inventory to change ... why would i have the inventory of character 1 open while i control the other ...
You can actually have multiple inventory windows open at a time (try, for example, right-clicking the portrait of everyone in your party). Not sure what you want really fits with the flexible multi-window scheme they're using, but I agree it can be weird at times.
