When I launch the game, Windows warns me as follows:
Program name: EoCApp.exe
Publisher: Unknown

Just to be sure, I uninstalled the game. I downloaded the latest from gog.com (currently listed as v2.2.0.4 there), installed, and tried again. I still see the warning message from Windows. I don't know if it's a Larian problem or a GOG problem.

Short answer? Install away. MS wants money from companies and a lengthy approval process so they don't show as 'unknown'.

If you really want security, request Larian list the 'hash' of a program so you can compare it before running it, then you know it's the same.
