The sound files used are called (wwise) soundbanks or short "*.bnk" . Wwise is a programm by Audiokinetic and is a professional tool for creating soundeffects and music for cross-platform games. This means it is a very powerful tool, espc. with its SDKs and addons. However, this also means it is fairly complex and "just converting a *.wav or even *.mp3 to *.bnk" is NOT possible (mp3 not supported, but there are good reasons for that). The reason is the way a *.bnk sound file saves information about various effects and not just the audio part, so it is easily used inside an editor.

Information about Wwise:
https://www.audiokinetic.com/products/wwise/

FREE license (slow) download:
https://www.audiokinetic.com/downloads/

If you want to get into creating *.bnk files check the TUTORIALS on Wwise:

Regards,

Chris

You cannot add any other type of sound file to the editor. It will only accept *.bnk files. I will make a tutorial on how to create them with wise and how to import them into the editor.

I was not able to import my created soundbank files. The editor refused to write to "SoMmusic.lsb" which was created by me through the ressources manager, so I would have a package for my new music. It was protected just like the campaign. Removing the protection resulted in, yet again, corrupting main.

And while importing the editor also asked for some file selection. But there is no text. It just wants some file which is not there. No way to find out what kind of file or where to get it from.

No clue.

You must however copy (and in Wwise set the correct file path) your soundbank and .wem files to the game folder or else you cannot even start importing.

This needs to be addressed by Larian immediately, the "You must have developer rights" error when trying to import assets. I too was looking to add music to my mod but came across this error when trying to import my bnk file.

I'm also looking for a way to import custom music into the GM Mode Campaign I'm working on. I ran into this issue also. I'm not sure how to properly create a bnk file for this game.

that's because you can't. I'm hoping for this to be addressed by Christmas, but doubtful.
