Our friend has a laptop. Had latest drivers.

We just got our friends one working by having them get the earlier drivers from the laptop supplier instead of latest from Nvidia.
Turned out the Laptop's NVidea Optimus hadn't been letting the game run on the NVidia GPU even though it was set to do so. Using the NVidea monitoring tool, we could see the Intel usage spiking instead of NVidea when starting the game up.
Latest drivers can actually cause problems for laptops (Especially hybrids and most 'gaming' laptops don't tell you they are hybrids when buying.)
