I don't disagree that there are consequences to actions but if they impede progress on the game they are stupid. Since you bring up Skyrim I'll use that as a mutual example. If you commit a crime in Skyrim you are punished but you aren't slaughtered by everyone in town unless you resist arrest or actually go on a murderous rampage.

Now. Two examples that I have personally had to deal with.

One-In the jailhouse in Cyseal. I was using teleport on one of my companions to get to a book in one of the cells. The second use of it caused the guards to attack me. I fled combat. However I can no longer visit the jail because combat will resume.

Guards should at the very least give the option to surrender and do jailtime or pay a fine. Not only does it add a level of immersion but it also makes more sense than indefinite conflict for eternity in that area.

Two-Silverglen inn. Accidentally picked up something that didn't belong to me (misclicked) when trying to talk to somebody. The entire inn turned to attack my character. It's important to note here however that I was using the character outside of my party. My other main character and 2 party members were outside the inn unattached. Anyway so I thought the best way to get out of this would be to let them kill me and just resurrect and resume my journey. After everybody in the inn brutally murdered my character, I went in and resurrected her. Suddenly my whole party entered combat with everyone in the inn!

That is absurd. And there is no justification to try and overcome the extreme lack of logic regarding these circumstances.

Simply responding with "It's a challenging game, you can't do what you want without consequences" not only insults me but also downplays the actual problem I have put forth. It is stupid and it is inconvenient and potentially game breaking. By that I mean if you happen to flee combat in an important area that you need for quests, etc, you no longer will be able to access it without being in combat.

Combat needs to have a cleaner way to end itself that is more concrete. This game is absolutely stunning. I do not intend to insult it but I only wish to see it improve on its very few flaws.
