Just my two cents worth...

I'm really enjoying D.O.S and its the first time a game closely reminds me of the Ultima series, Ultima 6 and 7 to be exact. Absolutely Amazing. Great work guys...

The only thing that I'm not 100% happy with is the camera angle and screen scrolling. It probably would have been better to lock the camera angle and have no screen scrolling. Having it moveable and also a partial screen rotate does not work too well. Maybe if the screen could be rotated was 360 degrees this would work but having it only rotating 60-90 degrees is annoying. Things are always in the way and there is too much mouse or track pad moving. Sometimes you want to click on something and you accidentally scroll the screen way off then having o locate your characters again.

I gather there is no way to lock this or stop the screen scrolling?

Thanks,
Rob

Turn off edge scrolling in the options and then use the WASD to scroll instead.

You can use "b" to go into straight overhead view if you're having a hard time clicking on something, although I've always been able to get what I want using the rotation.

From what I've heard, the reason the rotation is not 360 is for fiscal reasons during development. It takes a LOT more money/time to craft a world intended for 360 viewing than it does with a limited perspective.

You play D:OS iwth a track pad? Wow, bad idea... :P

But you can enable 360ー camera if you want so. I wouldn't recommend it personally since the game is made for the limited camera angle.

I don't know how you accidentially initiate screen rotation though. If you play with a normal mouse screen rotation needs you to press down the middle mouse button which you need for nothing else....

Great thanks.. Now seems better smile

Yeah Apple's Trackpad rocks for playing D:OS. Multi gestures... I'm glad they have invested time into the MAC version.

So how do you enable the 360 camera? I can't see those options anywhere...

Cheers,
Rob

I had it disabled at first because of that message, but eventually I got tired of the camera's shit and have kept it on unlocked rotation.

And I haven't seen a single problem at any point ever. Sure at times I have to rotate my camera around to make sure it matches up with what would normally be seen so I can look for switches on the wall properly, but the graphics have not looked funny or messed up ever.

It's most noticeable indoors.

The angle you're supposed to see:

The angle you're not supposed to see:

Less attention to detail on that side of the room, lack of props, missing lighting effects and textures in the window, etc. One side looks polished and professional while the other doesn't.
