I think you did everything in the same order I did. There is an area South of the Burning Hills, called Withering something or other and the enemies are level 7. So, before going into the church you might want to clear the southern area. In fact, I did the Church before the Burning Hills, and the Withering area, but you are obviously meant do to both of them first.
