It seems my assumption is only true for top tier crafting ... here my results for Level 7, Blacksmithing 3:
Two-handed Sword (Lvl 7)
78-113
7% crit chance
2x crit multiplier
70 durability
Two-handed Axe (Lvl 7)
48-162
5% crit chance
2x crit multiplier
80 durability
In this case the minimum damage of the axe seems significantly lower. But i can not reproduce your crit multiplier ... if you got 1.5 for two-handed axes, then this must be item level based and not dependend on the blacksmithing skill level.
