I cannot get both "mysterious opponents" to trigger in the cell's double puzzle.

I got one to trigger once but I deleted the save when I couldn't get the other one to trigger. Now neither will trigger. What am I doing wrong? I understand that each tomb relates to the other one.

Unfortunately I'm having the same problem. I can light the columns in the north cell by triggering them in the order shown on the sign south cell that spawns the mysterious stranger but the reverse doesn't work. I posted the same question just yesterday. If I get a response, I'll let you know.

Just in case - if you pulled the right lever, your chars will respond about how they have a good feeling about that last move or something like that.

Umm, probably a stupid question, but are you making sure to have one of the main characters in each chamber rather than having them both present together?

EDIT: Do note, I am not sure that they need to be split one to each chamber to work, but that was my guess when I encountered the puzzle and it seemed to work.

When I said death before dishonour, I meant it alphabetically.

I can't confirm. It worked for me with both main characters being present together.

They don't need to be split, I did the whole quest without splitting my party at all. Also, the "I have a good feeling" quote is completely unrelated to if you pulled the right lever.

Did you pull the levers in the right order (Sign 1 in Cave 2 and vice versa)? I got Water and Air confused at one point because they have nearly the same color.

Actually not. If you press the right combination your char should say this line four times in a row. If you press a wrong lever he says "Hm, I wonder what that might cause." or something alone these lines...

I can confirm this, have gone through the Cyseal map 3 times and every time I just followed what my character said after pressing each switch, the right combination says he has a good feeling after each. If you get one wrong you have to start the combination again. Takes no more than a minute or two to get the right combination by trial and error in each cave with this character indication.

How a Smart Person Completes the Challenge Without Solving the Puzzle
1. Hold down the Shift key and do not let go (until noted).
2. Click on switches clockwise, until you've pressed about six switches. Six ensures you get every possible type of elemental combination. Because you're holding the Shift key, your character won't move yet.
3. Now do the same thing counterclockwise.
4. Now do the same thing with diagonals, in such a way that you always travel up when you're in a corner.
5. As #4, but traveling down.
6. As #4, but traveling right.
7. As #4, but traveling left.
8. Now you can finally release the Shift key.

This sets a character with roughly 40 waypoints to cover every possible combination of button presses. So you can then switch over to your other character and watch all the cool elemental effects until eventually the fight triggers.

I've rerolled my characters several times, and I've triggered both opponents multiple times, and I still have absolutely no idea what the actual solution to that puzzle is. I just input all possible inputs in an efficient manner.

And that's why they need to remove those silly lines so the puzzle isn't spoiled.

Some people have been saying that since beta, and I agree with them. Especially reading now again that people solve it that way smirk

(Normally I wouldn't object to "how people play the game", but just rofl-stomping a nice brainteaser, yeah... there's an exception for that)

I admit it's more than a little cheesy on my part, but I actually did try to solve it the first time I encountered it. After about an hour I got frustrated.

Edit: Oops thought you had to do them spawn them at same time. Hassat who follows this post is correct. Retried it, and spawned them sequentially.

@ blinkicide; Not true. You can spawn one, then the other.
I've done it without splitting, and doing just that.
