Downloaded the Mac version from Steam to see how it worked on my late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina and it won't even launch. Running OS X 10.9.4, 8gb RAM, Core i7 w/ Intel Iris Pro graphics. Exceeds recommended requirements. PC version working fine, but it would be nice to be able to play this game on the go as well.

Hopefully using provided instructions will give us a chance to fix your issues very soon.

1. Do you have external video monitors attached to your Mac?
2. Can you check whether Documents/Larian Studios/.... directory has been created?
3. Have you seen Initial "Welcome" dialog about controls?

In order to diagnose the issue please open Activity monitor, find Divinity Process (it should be marked in red). Double click on the process and press 'Sample' button. Save the sampler output when it finishes using 'Save' button.

We have observed troubling Steam issues that might look quite like this. Can you

1) Stop steam, exit it and run it again
2) Try the game
3) Turn steam into offline mode
4) Try the game
5) Go to steam properties, Local files, browse Local files, exit Steam
6) Launch the game without steam from Local directory (Finder folder opened in 5)

That's all I can think of now.

Had the same issue on 10.10 DP3. Launching the game directly from the file worked for me, but steam is broken.

Well, I'm not even sure what happened but the game is now working. A couple of additional restarts and changing Steam from Offline to Online seems to have fixed it for now. It's weird because I had already followed all of those steps and it didn't seem to fix the problem...now it's magically working. Sorry if I can't be any more help, but I changed nothing and the game started working.

I think I'm just going to run the game on my PC which seems to be a much more stable version.
