Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Technical Issues Editor error message, won't work

I get this error message when attempting to launch the editor:

Attempted to read or write protected memory


It just flares in red across the screen endlessly

That happens if you do not set the data folders properly (which isn't particularly clear). Delete the config.xml file in the install folder and try again (setup guide)
