It seems quite possible. I'm currently Lone Wolf'ing on Hard Mode with a RoguexRanger, and the only truly difficult battle that I've fought is versus King Boreas'- which is borderline impossible because of his infinitely spawning minions. That would probably be the only thing that would stand in the way of a solo playthrough.
