Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Fire dmg on weapon and as a skill :do they add up?

You can have extra fire, lightning, spiritual and poison damage as skill but also directly on your weapon. If you have lvl 5 fire damage skill and fire (5) on the weapon, does the weapon then do 2 times fire-damage.

I also understand that extra damage on a weapon can't be resisted while the skill always has a percentage of chance. Pretty whacko I have to say, especially with freeze and frost.
