Dang. It is interesting odds that had "Free" pick the opposite for me each time I tried.

Morrandir, there is nothing in the source templates that indicates how personalities work or how to create new ones. However, I did load some duel dialogs in the editor and so far it has panned out for the others.

Thanks for your efforts! smile

Still waiting for some official information though, especially about the "Free/Sprit"...

Ok, the source stating that it should be a single personality "Free Spirit" seems to be this interview with Swen on PCGamer:

Quote
PCG: Can you go into a little more detail on the kind of personalities that you're shipping in the update?

Vincke: We'll have a knight. That's what you can imagine. Then we'll have a rascal, a maniac, a judge somebody who's very judgmental預 priest, and a free-spirit, They basically all have different traits that they prefer.

well it could be that there are supposed to be both traits, but he made a mistake in the article

because we already have "Loyal", wouldn't it makes sense to also have the opposite, "Free"?

Imho it doesn't make sense. To always chose the opposite opinion of your companion is a behaviour for 8 y/o brats, not for grown-ups trying to save the world. wink

The only real problem with "Free" is horrible naming. If the personality was named "Contrary" it would be absolutely fine.

I would name it "Rebel" or maybe just "Disloyal" would made it the most clear

Disloyal is a good name as well. (Rebel isn't, as it implies Renegade, which wouldn't always be the case.) The personality itself, however, is fine.

It's the other personalities which aren't. Savescumming in order to get the ideal trait bonuses is a huge drain of time and degrades from the play experience. From a game design perspective, the choice is a simple dichotomy: to help the players automate that specific task, or continue to encourage savescumming. The correct answer is to help automate it, which is why it's important that the various personalities give a collection of viable trait bonuses which fit to common character archetypes. I feel the six most common would be pure Dex, pure Str, pure Int, Str/Dex hybrid, Str/Int hybrid, Dex/Int hybrid. From there, it's not rocket science attaching certain traits to certain automated personalities; for example, all the Str-based ones would be Vindictive, all the non-Str ones would be Forgiving.

Free does not always disagree with you. I've played a few hours with it had have had it agree with me several times. Free seems to be greedy, seems like Free has mostly agreed with me when money was to be made and also seemed to be somewhat spiritual. But I've also had it change its answer on reload and not change its answer on reload for some. I've not put much testing into it though.
