Lower shadow quality, or disable them entirely (edit the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin\graphicSettings.lsx file in Wordpad, or other text editor, search for ShadowsEnabled and change the one a couple rows below that to a zero).
Disable Ambient Occlusion, and maybe other post processing effects.
I think those are the 2 main performance effecting settings.
