Hi Larian!
I would like that you leave the respawning books at the teller of secrets in the game.
I would really appreciate that.

For the "nerf it" community:
if you think running through the game to reach the teller of secrets at Level 5 and then get 15 (?) books is overpowered ... don't do it!
No one is forcing you to do that, but I as a casual player would like to have a chance to get a few of these books - one at each level AFAIK.

I am level 11 now, and I still have not met the teller of secrets.
I did not try to get there ASAP, nor did I try to avoid that path.
So for me, I don't see any imbalance with that seller, but it kind of makes me avoid patches!

Nevertheless, great game!

My party is level 10, and I'm still not even sure how to unlock the teller of secrets. So far as I know, I've done everything through (save for returning the staff to the mayor, so maybe that's the clincher).

Refill stat books each level seems a bug, so they fixed it. I prefer a balanced game instead of constantly having the temptation to do meta-gaming around...

There will be plenty of mods to add whatever you want to the game, Nexus is growing! Take a look smile NexusMods

I don't remember how to unlock the teller of secrets, i'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with returning the staff to the mayor though.

I already have like ten unused copies of each of those books. I am level 18 (hard difficulty) and already ridiculously powerful, my team just mows down every enemy without any problems at all. The game is easy enough as it is IMO, I have no idea why somebody would want them to keep on regenerating. I think it should stay removed, so that we just have one copy each for the entire game.

Apparently not for old save games though. They are still regenerating in my game.

No, I am actually forced to do it. I have major OCD and if I do not go get those books at the earliest level possible (aka, missing no books) then I will end up freaking out and throwing up in the bathroom. Reducing it down to one or two sets (so both characters can have them) is both more balanced from a game perspective and would help with my particular issue :P

Why would Larian even try to fight this or patch something like this? There will be mods that will grant max all skills and so on and so forth. Bloody hell it's not hard to make your party invulnerable to damage now. They should focus their efforts on real bugs and glitches....as of now with patch 1.0.81 I still can't reenter the Cyseal library, the game crashes when I click on the stairs 110% of the time....they should fix stuff like that instead of exercising futility.

Here's where the star stone is:
in the immaculate trials dungeon, in the first door on your left as soon as you enter the dungeon. Initially it's locked but you can pick it if you don't feel like getting the rot and jumping through the hoops for the immaculates(I know I don't).

Funny, that is definitely not where I found the star stone to unlock the teller of secrets. I'm pretty sure it was somewhere in Cyseal TBH.

Yeah it seems that the rooms at the end of time are unlocked in a certain order regardless of which order you find the star stones. from what I've read the 5th star stone you find unlocks the teller of secrets.

Why do you want something to stay that you haven't even experienced yet? You have no idea about balancing in late game (given you're only level 11) but you claim that a glitch should stay for which reason exactly?

If the game is too hard for you, play on easy. "Problem" solved.

This is either pure stupidness and ignorance or serious trolling. It makes me sad and angry when I have to read such crap like the post of the OP.

From the title a smart person might have deducted from the title what this post is about. If you get sad or angry these feeling are therefore self inflicted. As you obviously like to wallow in these feeling be my guest!

It makes me sad that you talk about a topic you don't have the slightest clue about. That just pure ignorance...

I know exactly what your post is about. It just makes no sense at all. But your answer is indication enough that arguments are nothing you value...

"Let's throw balance out, cheatmods will come anyway?"

Is that why we have ridicilous easy games nowadays? Since devs just go 'screw this, let's save people the trouble to hack up our game'...

Ugh, the issue with gaming today.
Yes, this is a SEVERE balance issue, and obviously will be taken out ASAP.
This is, what we call, a "real bug"... what's your defition of it?

lordcrash... just... stop.

seriously.

nobody cares what you think of what other people post.

you want irritating? your constant whinging over what other people think is the most irritating thing of all, and I wouldn't say that if I hadn't seen you do the exact same thing in two different threads on this topic now.

"This is, what we call, a "real bug"... what's your defition of it?"

real bug = programming error. this wasn't a programming error, it was a changed design decision.

regardless of whether or not you like it, it's not a bug, since almost all shopkeeper items normally respawn on levelup.

Intention = One-shot
Actual working = Restocks per level

Ehm... where in that is NOT a programming error?

(There have been many issues with shopkeepers so far... the most funny one being people selling questitems, like guards selling their keys to important rooms they protected. They fixed that, they're still working on fixing this apparently)
