Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - General Non-steam dvd version of D:OS

Those of us that backed the kickstarter campaign and choose non-steam DVDs, we should receive our copies in August? Is that correct? I received the kickstarter-backer collector's edition, but I was told that the DVD in that box DOES require steam. Can anyone verify this? Thanks.
