Evil Islands was a good game, the only complaint I had was the terrible voice acting. Especially for the main character, he sounds like his voice is breaking for goodness sake. Apart from that it had a good 3d engine and lots of great ideas, I loved being able to constuct my own weapons and armour from materials you could find.
I never much liked diablo either, it was too shallow. DD makes up for all its shortcomings thank goodness (Even if it adds a few of its own)
