Hi!

Divinity makes my pc freeze completely (only hard reset helps) at random. I tried alot of other games and ran intensive tests like prime95 etc to make sure its not my hardware. I am on all the latest drivers aswell.
Never had this on any other game. Sometimes i can play for hours, sometimes it will crash after several minutes.

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?
There was one conflict with Daemon Tools reported which cause frequent crashes (every couple minutes, in that case).

Have you tried lowering the graphics settings and resolution, etc, to see if that would have an impact?
One person reported stability problem if they had Ambient Occlusion enabled, but the game was fine if they disabled it and enabled it in their graphics drivers. You could try disabling all the post processing in the graphics options, etc.

Do you have Vsync enabled, or the frame rate cap set in the options? A couple people reported overheating on the main menu or character creation screen due to a very high frame rate, even if it was fine once in the game itself. If heat was an issue (doesn't sound like it), then you would probably be able to play longer when you first turn on your computer, and if you restart the game immediately after crashing it would exhibit problems sooner.

What refresh rate is your monitor running at? Someone reported crashes when casting spells if the picked a resolution at 59Hz refresh rate, but the game was fine with the same resolution at 60Hz.

Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool (for the PC version). The report will contain system and game information, any crash dumps, and your saved games. If file size is an issue, you can delete most of the saves from the zip.

I am a game dev myself (not DOS), and I can tell you that the game cannot by itself cause a complete freeze of your PC. It is caused by either a hardware or a driver problem.

Some applications, as Raze mentions, such as Daemon tools, runs on driver level and can cause issues.

Since tests does not catch anything it can also be an overheating issue. Try (for testings sake) to under clock your CPU/GPU. It might fix the issue.

I work in the industry myself, so sorry for not making it clear enough the first time, but i allready did anything to rule out any kind of hardware failure. As i said, i ran a bunch of stress test programms. If 1 straight hour of prime doesn't do anything, then the cpu is definitly not running hot. Did the same for the gpu. did ram tests etc etc etc. No other game, no matter how demanding does this to my system. actually my system never froze in the last 2 years, except for now with divinity.
I also disabled all programms in the background as far as i could.
I am 100% positive this is a problem with the game, maybe driver+game related (running the latest nvidia non beta drivers).
Hopefully the devs can fix this with the help of my report.zip. very anoying...
