confirmed on the global reputation hit. even if you get the guards to go hostile by opening the gate to the draconic statues, your global reputation falls by one point.

just tested it. latest patch (1.081).

spent some more time with it, and also searched around; there are a few ways around it:

-you can at least limit the hit to one of your hirelings instead of your mains if you detach them from your party, and have them trigger the event.

...and one more way, a bit more difficult:

featherfall or teleport Bruthor out of his prison cell.

KEEP HIM ALIVE, while you and he kill all the other guards. If Bruthor dies, the fight ends. if you can kill all the guards before bruthor dies, you won't take any rep hits.

it's too bad bruthor turns on you though, and you have to kill him as well.

or, as someone else with far more patience than I did:

- I gave all five guards a tenebrium bar, which will make them rot.
- I placed my characters in a way that all five guards are visible. (They don't continue to rot if you're not nearby.)
- I watched some tv until they were near-dead. (They won't die from rot, they'll be left with 1 hitpoint.)
- I had one of my characters pick them off one by one, making sure the kill isn't seen by any of the other guards.

Because you can instantly kill the guards this way, they don't have time to ring the alarm bells and you don't suffer a reputation hit. smile
