A little bit off topic, but this idea rubs me the wrong way.

I would say that the point of the enemy in a game isn't to lose (not even lose with style). It's to make the player better. Dark Souls is a great example of this. Every enemy in the game is challenging, but fair. They aren't there to die for you. They're there to force you to get better at the game.

A game which makes you feel skillful without actually challenging you seems as hollow, to me, as a book which makes you feel smart without actually saying anything meaningful.
