Yes, there is a cutscene conversation that gets triggered as you approach the gate for Farglow. A few people have had trouble there.
You should be able to quicksave the game when it appears to freeze, then quickload and continue normally. It can also help if you head directly to the gate from the beginning of the game, and not wander off the path or stop to kick rabbits to death, etc (one person had a problem if they approached from the right, but not from the left). One person said they lowered the resolution and graphics options until they got past the cutscene, and then saved, put all the settings back and had no problems after that. Another just rebooted their computer and didn't have a problem when they tried again (so either rebooting helped or it was a random glitch the first time).
