I've been messing around on various little things here and there for DOS modding but overall I am really not even remotely impressed by the dedication of the devs towards supporting the modding community. The editor while it most likely is fairly powerful in what it's supposed to do isn't the most user friendly piece of software I've ever seen and like MrEsturk pointed out, modding outside of the editor is a royal pain in the rear end right now because the devs in all their unbridled wisdom figured they'd make it even more annoying for modmakers to release their mods in a working order since patch 1.0.8x. Btw, the unpacking thing to fix mods came from a fellow modmaker and not the devs so it does kind of show they can't be bothered too much.

DOS is one of those games that could be great instead of good if the restrictions for modding were removed and the devs give feedback every now and then about modding. I'm not demanding unreasonable terms here really for the devs, just a small pointer here and there. Heck, Bethesda was supportive towards it's modding community for Morrowind, setting up the future for the other Elder Scrolls games (except for Elder Scrolls Online which is a bit meh).

Loot? Did anyone say loot? I'm sure someone mentioned loot! Loot yes, precious loot... nice loot! No no, I'm not in it for the loot, it's just nice to get loot after looting! Did I mention I like loot?
