Did you try leaving it for awhile? In the
other topic Marrix mentioned waiting a long time.
Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?
You could try running the game as administrator (right click on the '..\SteamApps\common\Divinity - Original Sin\Shipping\EoCApp.exe' program file to do so).
