Modders aren't your average users. A high degree of polish isn't necessary; core functionality, is. For example, right now talents are hardcoded into the .exe (according to what I've heard), and that's something that needs to come out and become moddable. Stuff like that.
I agree....they don't need to dumb it down they just need to unlock it's full functionality and let us use it. People can learn and figure it out.
