When you are not supposed to be in that area quest wise, the guard warns you before leaving, dead bodies are all over the place and the npc that is twice your level there is not much more that can be done to signalize that you are not supposed to be in that area right now.
What is the point of traps when they don't represent a real threat for characters with low HP, resistances or perception?
