I get +14 skill ranks on my Roderick, from equipment, and +9 skill ranks on my Scarlet from equipment.

In case that needs elaborating, that means I got enough skill ranks on Roderick from GEAR ALONE to max out almost 3 different skills.

Also I take it back. I apparently used a single Compendium on my Roderick. Of course I also ended the game with 4 unspent skill points on my Roderick.
