Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity Original Sin - Help/Tips/Tricks Secret Library switches?

I've gone to that place where there were some people being sacrificed. I released them and some head priest ran down some stairs under the alter to a secret library.

There is a locked up room in the middle where I assume the priest is hiding. I've found three switches on the walls, but hitting them, in any order, doesn't open up the sealed room. I assume there is another switch or I'm missing something else.

The switches I've found are two on some corners in the North and NW, and then another against the SE wall of the sealed room.

Would love some help here as I can't find clues anywhere.

There is a wall button on the stairs (close the the ground by the compass).


Once you know where they are, you need to separate your party and have one member stand by the button near the stairs, the one hidden behind a tall candlestick and one can hit the two buttons that are near each other.

This is a puzzle that is timed.

When someone told me there was one by the stairs, it still took me a long time to find as it is very close to the ground.

And notice the compass on the ground near the stairs. It is super confusing but apparently in this room north is not the same as north on your minimap. This compass direction is important for solving the puzzle.

I just pushed all buttons till it opened.

Yes, if you have pet pal, always talk to the animals. I once talked to a deer in some forest (forgotten which one). The deer was very helpful
