Ok, I'll try to give a brief description of the different types of beer......

Lager-usually a light, hoppy, fizzy drink. Golden in colour. Very good on a hot, sunny day. Served chilled.

Bitter-A general english description for darker beers. These have a bit less fizz but are usually tastier. There are lots of sub-types of these beers.

Stout-such as guiness, Murphys, Mackeson etc. Made from roasted hops and barley. A meal in themselves. Thick and rich in flavour.

Ale-light to dark brown. Sometimes a darker version of lager but usually served warmer. Some are thick like stout i.e. calders, kilkenny, and so on.

Porter-Discovered this in the states. These are very dark beers like guiness but much stronger. Very nice.

I miss anything?
