Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity Original Sin - Help/Tips/Tricks Chest loot scaling with level?

Does loot in chests scale with level? For instance, if I leave the ornate chest alone in Esmeralda's basement can I come back after leveling and get level appropriate gear? I know I will level quickly in the early game and would prefer to just come back and get the legendaries when I am further along.
