@Elwyn Leech heals you for 5% of your max HP, every 'tick'. This means that you can instantly ignore (5%maxHP) from any physical damage you take. So as an example, my Leech/GlassCannon mage has 12 Constitution and 1032 HP at level 21. That means he ignores 52 damage from every physical attack he takes. When I put an elemental shield on him, he actually GAINS HEALTH from people attacking him with swords, because the shield absorbs damage but he still bleeds. Note that if I hadn't given him Glass Cannon, he would be healing for twice as much each time.
However because I >did< give him Glass Cannon, he gets +16 AP per turn. And because Glass Cannon lets you focus less on Speed, I was able to pump his Constitution up higher than my warriors (who don't have glass Cannon). As a result, my Madora only has 20% more hp than him, but she has WAY fewer AP per turn.

[quote=dirigible]And why would anyone want to have a more difficult time? To repeat the same battles and conversations over and over and overall just waste my fucking time? Don't upgrade your starting gear at all and play with an all melee party....there you go, problem solved. Or better yet, just fucking save and load again. I really don't have the time or the fucking patience for that bullshit. Want a hard time? Or just go find your local gangs and piss them off until they hand you a few beatings that should increase the difficulty settings for walking down the street.....what's that? You're not going to do it? But it's too fucking easy to just go to the store, the consensus says it's too easy. If any kid of mine ever asks for something to be harder he'd get the beating of a fucking lifetime. While I guess this wouldn't apply to you, there are players out there who like to be challenged. However, purposely gimping yourself to create difficulty artificially is not the type of challenge they're looking for. Part of the challenge is to have difficult encounters, yes, but the other part of the challenge players enjoy is to figure out (legal) ways to develop powerful characters to take on those challenges. So, in short, some players want the game to be able to give as good as it gets. They want to push the allowable legal limits of the game, and they want the game to push back just as hard. When that happens they're at their happiest, as they face difficult encounters that they're only managing to survive through hard "work" and smart play. On an observational note, your attitude stinks. It was bad in alpha/beta (albeit in a different way) and has gotten even worse since then. I had a feeling this would happen to some of the alpha/beta folks.. you were one of the ones who got upset and defensive every time someone offered development feedback that wasn't all rainbows and sunshine. Now you just seem disappointed and bitter, like someone who just had a falling out with the love of their life (i.e. this game). I get that you're not happy that the editor isn't giving you the control you're looking for (yet), but this is still the same good (although somewhat flawed) game that you so rabidly defended during beta.

Oh, come now, thread derailment is very common, particularly when someone comes in and either purposefully or unintentionally drags the topic off on a tangent that then goes bananas.
Unless otherwise specified, just an opinion or simple curiosity.

Considering they are returning tomorrow, the actual point of the topic has turned moot anyway. They'll return, they start working, and we'll see a next big patch down the line.
It'll never be enough for some people ("Why you fix bug X, but not MY ISSUE. My issue is more important!" or "So we got 2 new companions. When's a new area coming? When will you add night/day. For free of course...!") though.

I know, don't ask how, that most people at Larian took off until the end of August. So don't expect too much updates until then.

How do you know? :p
Also, they wouldn't necessarily need the whole team to make patches, since patches don't necessarily have to dig into every little corner of the game's source code, but that depends on the actual content of the patches.

Don't act like you know more than everyone else until you don't have proof... What I know for sure (and which can be proved) is that Swen announced the second big patch for August aka this month.

I get +14 skill ranks on my Roderick, from equipment, and +9 skill ranks on my Scarlet from equipment. Ok....except none of my equipment above level 8 has any of the skills that aid the skills I'm using....again, I've covered this over and over and fucking over again. Gear bonuses are not a valid defense of this worthless leveling system because gear drops are unreliable at the very best. tone down difficulty if the game is too hard for you. i played on easy an it was a blast. never had an issue. btw: DO NOT TOUCH easy difficulty, larian! perfect as it is (i dont care for other difficulty setting, though )

No eavesdropping involved
