Hello fellow Larianites:)

First of all, thx Larian, again an awesome game ..

Sencond of all - HELP! smile

Since we came back from the black cove (and picked up sam's collar which I suspect to be causing the issue though i could be wrong) everytime we come near the tavern the games crashes to desktop.Although come to think of it I tried an earlier save from the cave(where we had not yet killed the "thing" that drops the collar and we had it as well.

I have tried teleporting my character using lstools.exe (i looked up the location of jahan in an other save) hoping that finalizing the kitty quest could get things back to normal but either i did not do it properly, or somethings wrong because it did diddly-squat.

Then I tried deleting the Cyseal lbs whilst in the black cove map.Effectively everything is covered by mist of war again (you know what i mean) but it keeps crashing.

To specify, i have i5-3570k,8g 1600mhz ram and a 250gts.No issue whatsoever playing, until now. Also, i can walk around to the east,no problem, i can basically go where I want but once I come in the vicinity of the tavern - > CTD.

Anybody got any suggestions for me? They can be hard, I know my way around a pc. Should I expect it to be fixed by Larian in a timely matter ergo can I keep playing in the other directions until fixed.Or better just wait to not have to do everything over.

Also anybody else experiencing this issue.

Did you try approaching the area with individual characters?

It is possible you could be getting the crash if you sold an item to an NPC there that you had a shortcut to on your skill bar. Try dragging an item/skill to each open skill bar slot to refresh them, and see if that avoids the crash (there will be a fix for that in a future update).

I would assume (for the Steam version) you already tried verifying local files?

You could try browsing to the '..\Documents\Larian Studios' folder and renaming the 'Divinity Original Sin' subfolder.
This folder contains the saved games, configuration files and a level cache folder. Deleting or renaming it will get the game to recreate it on startup; playing the game from a different Windows user account would effectively do the same thing.
After that, start D:OS, create a new profile and exit. Copy your latest save from the renamed folder to the newly created profile's savegames folder. If that lets you start the game, load and approach the tavern, then you can move the rest of the saves over.
If it still crashes, delete the new My Documents D:OS folder and rename the original back again.

Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool (for the PC version). The report will contain system and game information, any crash dumps, and your saved games. To reduce file size, you can delete unrelated saves, and just keep your latest save, the most recent one where the tavern area was fine, and the oldest where it crashes.

Yep yep, tried already.

Recreating the D:OS folder in My Docs didn't work either frown I highly suspect it is something progress related :s Unfortunately if that's the case a reinstall wouldn't help much either.

Created the report, first look nothing wrong specwise, but i knew that already, did not delete different save files though, size is not an issue for me so meh.
REPORT

Will be sending a mail to larian support now

I tried your latest save, and it crashes here, as well (unsurprisingly).

So luckily I had a save from a bit before black cove, and we progressed and saved incrementally until past the last choke point and all is working well..

So I'm no longer in a pickle but think info would still be relevant for larian because we lost a day of gaming. We are not angry, but i can imagine people with less patience giving up or becoming frustrated enough to bad talk the game entirely :s
