Definitely a bug. Not high on the priority list obviously, but I'm sure they'll get to it when they can. It is rather funny, though. A giant ghoul suddenly appearing in town to kill your partner who's not even involved in the fight. What happens if your character is in the middle of the town square, or surrounded by guards? Do they attempt to help, or is it just 'pop in, attack, pop out' before any NPC can react?
