Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - General No gameplay after ending?

So, last night I finished the main quest, the final boss dropped some sweet loot and rewarded me with a gazillion xp points but, much to my surprise, after credits rolled I got sent to the main menu. So, I click continue thinking I'm getting a post-ending load so that I can pick up that sweet loot and finish sidequests but instead I am loaded to a quicksave mid final bossfight. In disbelief, I kill it again just to find myself staring at the main menu again, unable to keep playing after the final bossfight.

Is there really no post-ending gameplay? Then why the final boss loot and XP?
