Yes. I noticed that too.
Most don't know there's a whole world outside USA borders.

That is sad.

And yes... it's that "if I don't get anything out of it, why should I care?" attitude that ppl here find so strange.
But then again. Ppl here are just the other way around. They're often to nosy about others.
The troubles of others are here the talk of the town. Not the weather or a war in Iraq or a chinese sub or whatever.
To the few who still go to church on sunday the mass itself isn't important. It's the gathering together in groups afterwards, and gossipping about who was wearing what to mass that sunday. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
You can't walk through a town here without someone asking you if you heared about him, her and him. And then a next person asking you more or less the same about the first person you talked to.
