Sure, add me as a friend, deelessthanthree. Once I accept, you should see the Workshop file. Or, if it's easier, I can just host the .pak on Mediafire?

Question 2: After publishing, should my StoryEditor be telling me that my files are ReadOnly when I try to edit them?

make sure you haven't sent the mod before, or if you have they've deleted all the old files.

You mean to the other PC? No, it was only obtained the one time, through the Workshop subscription. I didn't copy over a .pak prior or anything.

FromHolland, for reference, Lou should be Level 9 with three skills in his skillbar (highlighted here because I've equipped a stick) and a bunch of skillpoints/talents allocated by default.

If you just see a Level 1 Lou then that's confirmation of the issue.

EDIT: with regards to this Read Only problem, is that supposed to happen after publishing? Is my Editor now just using a .pak file and I have to unpack again?? I hope not.

I'm really sorry for all the questions by the way. This thing was (is, sort of) completely ready and finished. These last few problems that appeared on Friday are driving me insane. I just want to publish! :p

i inpacked your file, but there is no public folder present at all. zip all files (+public folder) for your mod and send that link (put a password as well if you want) in a pm. I'll try it myself, something is wrong wink

Fantastic, thank you. That was indeed the problem. Deleted the newly-made .pak in Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin\Mods and no more Read Only issues.

Much better than what I was doing this last hour: editing my StoryEditor code directly through the .txt file, heh.

Update on the other big problem, with the published .pak files not including any data from my modified .txts in Data\Public\MODULE\

After several hours fiddling with folders, FromHolland and I (mainly just FromHolland) managed to solve the issue. Holland was, I'm sure, doing all sorts of clever stuff modifying my files and straightening out whatever mess I'd made of them. The solution which fixed the issue?

Delete and resinstall D:OS and the Divinity Editor! laugh

I was able to publish to Steam and install the module through Workshop on the other PC and the .txts showed up in game. Sweet. One problem down, two more to go!

A hundred thank yous to FromHolland for being so gracious and helpful. If you're ever in Stockholm, let me know and I'll buy you a beer.
