having reached the White Witch trapped in ice in Boreas's prison, i tried a few ways to free her. i discovered that she can be teleported out using Feather Drop. however, after teleporting her out, it is impossible to talk to her. i noticed that she is still frozen, so i cast Wildfire on her to bring her up to chilled, then normal. now her status is normal, and her idle animation seems to indicate that she is able to move and (presumably) talk. however, i am still unable to enter dialog with her. furthermore, it is still possible to activate the ice crystal in which she was trapped, and doing so causes my main characters to comment about it as if she is still in there.


confused, i searched the web and learned about the intended way to free her. i'll load my game and proceed this way.

due to the nature of the game, in that it encourages experimentation and discovery of alternate solutions to its puzzles, it seems only natural that my situation would arise. one way or another, this is a bug. either this alternate path should be properly implemented, with appropriate working dialog and commentary, or it should be disabled, perhaps by disallowing her to be targeted by teleportation spells before she is freed normally.
