Hmmm! I dont know how well that would work with a console controler, but then, I already found the games interface cumbersome <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

It means its hard to use, awkward. I was going to say unwieldy but that probably wouldnt help <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

They were all a little cumbersome but because Tactics is real time I found it much worse. I only played a demo so maybe the full game was better <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Change the options for fallout tactics... you can use turn based too. The characters look run a little weird in tactics.
And about the new fallout project, I would much more like a 2d engine like the other fallout games, hell i'd even be happy if they used the same engine as fallout 2 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
And I think that interface is quite good, except for tactics is a bit confusing.

agreed, if they tried to make fallout 2 in 3d, it would fail miserably i think.
but the graphics could hopefully be made prettier <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> maybe like in div div <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I played fallout tactics and enjoyed it as much as the first two, but it is a very different game; it is less an RPG and more combat, hence the name. It is designed more like "levels" than the free-roaming attitude of the previous games. There are some very cool weapons you get to use, including a tank at one point!
Level design is very good in most areas, combat does require some serious use of team tactics at several points.
I'd give fallout tactics an 8/10 score.
I agree with the others here; keep the fallout genre isometric. I don't care if it's true 3-d or all pre-rendered, as the company that makes this series has a good history of making great game engines.
BTW, I think i have both fallout 2 and tactics, if someone wants them and is willing to pay the postage, I'd be happy to send them on (send me a PM). (english only, sorry)

Have just bought Fallout 2 for only 4.99 have heard some good stuff about , any of you fellow "Diviner's" heard much about it or played it? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> Fallout 1 was better, but Fallout 2 was still a smegging kickass game, like Planescape: Torment. You should visit the boards of those who made it one day. Link is in my sig. At the moment, a Fantasy game is being made using the SPECIAL (Fallout) ruleset. Also, "Jefferson", the codename for their RPG which will be a mix of Dungoen Siege's graphics, and the great story of PS:T and the FO series mixed with 3rd edition D&D rules, is being discussed there.
