Thanks in advance!
Isn't that information printed on the GOG page where you click on the download link for the patch?

Well, power to the community, I say, what if people who have the patch discuss how properly send them to people who need the patch? =P

Probably, but I didn't read it. I've actually been playing my roommate's install of this game. I'd like to buy it to have on my PC though, and I'd prefer not to deal with having delayed patches. So I was curious which vendor(s) don't have a custom installer that isn't automatically compatible with the latest patches/fixes (without a custom patch for the custom installer).

Can this game be purchased outside of Steam and/or GOG? (I know, letmegooglethatforyou).

Nope, not even on the Larian Vault. Those are your two choices at the moment.

If there is a patch, then there is always going to be a delay, because that is an extra step that needs to be done and tested compared to updating directly to Steam.
When GOG Galaxy is released, that may give developers a similar way to make updates directly. GOG has always made their own installers and patches, though, so I don't know how they plan on handling that (haven't been following, if they've revealed any details).

I have all the patch files but updating to version 1.0.107 (Patch 2.7.0.14) has an error message:

"Incorrect version of: c:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Games\Divinity - Original Sin\LanguageSetup.exe"

And the three patches after that don't recognize the game anymore. So unless someone can provide me with a correct version of the 1.0.107 LanguageSetup.exe the patches 2.8.0.15 and 2.9.0.16 and 2.9.0.17 can not be installed. Really great GOG.

Maybe someone has downloaded the entire 1.0.107 installer and can upload the LanuageSetup.exe somewhere but maybe even then it doesn't work.

EDIT: Currently downloading the 1.5 GB universal update to version 1.0.130. I`ll let you know if that works.

Just wanted to clarify that it is possible to just download the patches without needing to re-download a full installation. You can login to your GOG account online, then click on your D:OS game. Once you reach the page, ensure that your GOG.COM DOWNLOADER is set to OFF. Once you do that, you will see links to download each of the four D:OS installation files, as well as three patch files which can be used to update D:OS installations which have been previously patched:

Patch 1.0.107+ to 1.0.130 70 MB
Patch 1.0.74+ to 1.0.130 1.5 GB
Patch 1.0.130 to 1.0.132 (hotfix) 4 MB

I used the above to update my 1.0.107 version to 1.0.132 without re-downloading the whole installation.

Looks like GOG should have ensured their downloader allows downloading of specific patch files, but it's a small albeit annoying oversight.

Hope that helps somebody who bought this great game on GOG.

Thanks Blablabla,
But I also have all the previous GOG patches downloaded and stored on my pc.
That ain't the problem if you would please re-read my post.
The problem is that when I tried to install the latest hotfix the GOG downloader gave me an error message saying to install the hotfix I needed to also download and install the latest GOG installer...a wopping great 8gig of it.

Anyway, I've had enough of this topic both here and in the GOG forum. I tried to warn people to be aware, that's all.
With all the hate I am getting directed to me, not here but in the GOG forum I give up.
I'm far too old and have much more pressing real life issues to deal with, rather than worry about what I thought was a simple grievance about a pc game. silly

edit: I just got to read the last couple of posts and can only say thank you for your help guys. I hope it is useful information for others. thankyou

As for me I contacted my isp...got a one off deal for extra bandwidth this month and downloaded the latest GOG installer and finally got my game updated with the latest patch.

If this sort of confusing mess happens again I can assure you that I will either:
1. Give up playing and play one of my many unfinished games, or
2. Buy the Steam version.
goodbye and good health! woehoe

While re-downloading the new full GOG installer I started fiddling with the .130 patcher. My installation consisted of an early version installer with a patch to .74, then a patch to .107. I received the same incorrect version error the first time I tried to patch to 130. I traced it down and saw that the installer looked up a BUILD value in the windows registry. I launched regedit.exe from the run dialog to edit the registry. Narrowed down to this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\Games\1207664923\BUILD

The build value was set to 11 when according to the .107 patch installer it should have been 14. So I changed it to 14 and the newest patcher installed without a problem. I think the .107 patcher didn't update the build version for some reason.

The long string of numbers near the end seems to be randomly created at install time so it will probably be different for each person. But you will see other keys inside there that will identify it as used by divinity.

This worked for me. I was able to reconnect to my ongoing multiplayer game with friends. Hopefully it will work for others.
