There will be another patch this week or next, but I don't think it is the one with companions. The only thing I've seen mentioned as being included is improvements for the co-op dialogue system.

Do you have an idea of what kind of companion (mage/bowman/warrior/rogue)? and how many char companion will be added ? Just to know if I have to keep some stuff
The companion will level up automatically ?
