Has anybody managed to get the boar Thuringer to run around in the Witch's Grotto revealing buried treasures? I managed to get him to do it in my first play-through, but not in this one. The first time was done with an earlier version of the game. Was his treasure hunting capabilities edited out of the game in version 132? Or have I missed something? I have even tried to talk to him with Charisma = 5 without luck.

you don't need any charisma, pet pal (talk to him) and high perception (detect hidden chest) are needed.

It's not that. I have Pet Pal and high Perception (13). Finding the chests is not the problem. The problem is that Thuringer will not run any more. I managed to get him to run around in the cave prior to version 132, but I cannot manage to get him to run any more. Can you get him to run?

haven't played the game since new patch; been waiting for new companions to start a new game.

so he will talk to you, but doesn't follow your "left/right" order?

Yes. He will not move from where the fight took place. So you never get the chance to tell him to go "left/right".

it must be a glitch; not sure it's just accidental or introduced by the new patch~

I found out why I could not get Thuringer to run: I had already dug up the treasure chest. It works if you talk to him before digging up the treasure chest.
