Is there any reason that the same scroll (fireball, boulder bash) has more damage on companions than on main characters ? I found my fireball scroll to have ~90 dmg in both Jahan and Madora's inventory, and ~ 70 dmg in my wizard and fighter. This is really weird, and has nothing to do with int or pyro level (both my companions have no int and zero pyro).
My two companions almost have no similarity whatsoever in terms of items, stats, abilities, and talents. Same goes for my two main char. So I posit that the only deciding factor is, being companion or main character (lol)
I also assume this is pre-leadership and int bonus damage (both my fighter, Madora and Jahan receive the same leadership bonus): If I craft a fireball skill book on that scroll, the skill book on Jahan has 90 dmg on it while sending it to my wizard (with high int), it drops to 70 dmg, the actual fireball after learning that skill on my wizard, however, deals ~100 dmg (this is both int and leadership dmg bonus).
This is the most bizarre thing from the game I have found so far
Edit: Nevermind, dmg written on scrolls and all spells depend on level of the character AND leadership damage bonus. My companions have 1 more level than my main characters

also crafting the fireball scroll would give the small fireball skill book
