is there any differences to classes besides the starting stats and starting items you get??

i remember in diablo, you could have a wizard with a lot of strength, but no matter what, the wizard still swings weapons slowly. you could make a fighter with a lot of mana, but he will not be able to cast spells as fast as a wizard no matter what. is it the same with DD classes?? if not then i take it there is really no difference at all.

The Warrior gets double Health.
The Wizard gets double Mana.
The Survivor gets additional Offense and Defense.

A big difference is when you pick your skills you can put 16 skill points into each of the 4 categories of your class but if you go cross class you can only put 8 skill points into each of the four categories

Really? I didn't run into any limits with my warrior, though didn't try to get most of the skills in any path. At the end of my first game, for each of the way of the warrior and survivor I had 32 total points from skill points or quest rewards; for the way of the mage I had 76 total points, mostly from purchased spell books.
