In the hall of heroes, did you talk to someone sitting at the dining table, about half way down, on the north side? After that you need to return to the main room using the portal (not Rift Travel and return to the End of Time); that will finish unlocking the hall of heroes, and Zixzax should run over beside the weaver, or to the next portal, if you've found more inert stones.
