Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity Original Sin - Help/Tips/Tricks Weird game over in Trife battle

During the battle with Trife and his minions, I manage to kill Trife, but then shortly aftwerwards I get an image of the void swirling around, then the screen goes black and I get a weird series of dos entries, ending with "shutdown computer" and "there is no computer." "there is only the void! game over! No refunds! you have failed!" And I am forced to reload.
What the hell is this?!?

Did you let Astarte die? If she goes down, the fight ends no matter what (which is incredibly annoying). The DOS screens is just fanservice for older players who remember having to type in commands and such, before Windows as we know it today was much of a thing.

Aaah, that's probably what happened! I somehow thought she was unkillable, or nearly so. I will have to keep a closer eye on her. And I do remember the DOS screens from the olden days, heh heh.
