I can find the heart things labeled as "swirling mud" but that is it. I can find dozens of those but none of the bottle that is labeled "heart of fire." What gives? I am almost level 14 and have been playing for way over 100 hours (steam says 200 but that is too high).

You will find very few as random drops in barrels. not in chests.

But the trader on the ship in Cxseal harbour and the 2 sellers for assorted alchemy items (like needles and dolls) in Cyseal and in Silverglen start to have fiery hearts in stock after you venture out to Luculla Forest, so about level 10.

I always found and bought enough for at least 6 of them.

I can find the one that looks like a heart at vendors note that the heart is labeled as mud. I can not find the one that looks like a bottle anywhere.

I purchased the bottle from a shop NPC in Cyseal. The one that sells water and air spell books. Just save before you open his shop and keep save/loading until he sells them. I also bought the swirling mud from the quarter master up stairs in the house that has the cook.

They look like an ordinary bottle of water/beer.

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?

I've found that any vendor who can sell any type of ingredient has the chance to sell the items for the sword of planets as long as your at a high enough level. I've even seen both items for sale from the same vendor and sometimes there were 2 or more of either.

When you get to the immaculate trials, you should be able to start finding components for them. I've been finding them, regularly, at the Air/water spell book vendor (Bottle) and the Quarter Master (mud) in Cyseal.

The quarter master is up stairs in the house where the cook is. The guy that wanted to kill a chicken early on in the game. Just keep save and reloading the game until they sell it.

I also use these vendors to sell junk that I've looted to keep making gold.

Although I suppose it is a trade off as my Secrets vendor frequently restocks attribute books, no ability books but attribute books several times a level.

I too also have this problem. I have been keeping an eye out for the item that "looks like a heart but is the swirling mud item" in every vendor, every shop, going back regularly each level.

I'm now level 18. I have tons of bottles that are the fiery heart item, but have as of yet not found a single swirling mud (looks like a heart). I even created a new profile /new game and tried, still nothing yet though time may tell on that one as it obviously will take time to gain levels.

I'm curious if this is a bug, or if we two are just incredibly unlucky ^-^

I may try un-installing once I beat the game, and re-installing to try again fresh, to see if that fixes it.

Next time you level up, SAVE before talking to a trader NPC. Then keep save/loading until the Swirling Mud appears in the shop. I have had this come up a lot in Cyseal at the Quarter Master. She is located up stairs in the house that has the Legion cook. The cook is located in the house where he wanted you to stop a chicken from escaping early on in the game.

Just from experience - I had several finds in treasuries (random) and vases/barrels etc. In all of my games so far. It really pays to be methodically opening everything that can be opened (except the Astarte temple crypts of course).

A unique one handed sword with the best damage rating of any weapon. Built by combining a fiery heart (bottle) with a swirling mud (heart shaped red thingie). Deals fire damage in addition to physical and best of all - offers additional protection against all 4 elements, as usual depending on the item level which equals character level of builder.

Can be enhanced by Tenebrium without overwriting the fire damage (yay), tormented soul and sharpening.

Correction: Best single handed rated weapon.

Of course, damage is still scaled based on crafted level, so sometimes it makes sense to stock on ingredients and remake this weapon, after couple of levels.

As for two-handers, I still can't find anything that beats custom crafted axes (variant without extra critical bonus) with 5 point skill in crafting and boosted with tenebrium. Biggest DPS per action point I've seen.

Also, add the Tenebrium LAST. Once you add this, you can no longer upgrade the weapon without making a new one.

^That is not true.

You can, for example, add tenebrium to weapon for high damage output (more then you can get from adding elemental essence or poison flask), then add elemental essence or poison flask on top of that, to convert all tenebrium damage back to elemental/poison one.

This is useful trick in cases when you heavily invested in normal weapon skills, and would rather exploit tenebrium to improve damage of other elements and keep weapon using normal weapon skills.

They must have changed this in the previous updates. It has been 2 weeks since I've had time to sit down with the game. On the latest build I just got up to getting Tenebrium and the Sword of Planets. I haven't tried to add any Tenebrium to the weapon yet or anything else.

In an Earlier build, adding Tenebrium prevented you from further weapon upgrades, including just sharpening them. I experienced this myself.

True, but it did not prevent you from overriding Tenebriuum with elemental essences.
